In Telavi, Lagodekhi and Ozurgeti municipalities, intensive studies were conducted in terms of municipal waste management to assess the situation in the same municipalities.
Based on it, complex and individual recommendations were prepared for the relevant municipal bodies in order to reflect these recommendations in the 2022 municipal budgets.
The recommendations will address the implementation of the obligations under the five-year Municipal Waste Management Plan, as well as the prevention of natural landfills in specific administrative units, increase the intensity of municipal waste disposal and waste separation.
During the period under review and approval of the 2022 budgets, the process of taking into account the recommendations provided is being overseen.

The activities are carried out within the framework of the 2021-2024 program of the Georgian Center for Strategic Research and Development, funded by the organization Bread for the World, in cooperation with local partners, the Georgian Civic Development Association-Saga, the Guria Mediators Association and the Georgian Democratic Development Union.
