On November 1-2, 2018, at the Lopota Spa Resort Hotel, organized by the Georgian Center for Strategic Research and Development (CSRDG), a Community Leaders Forum was held, which was attended by more than 100 participants.
The main goals of the forum were: to acquire knowledge for community organizations, to share successful experiences, to provide information on current issues, to popularize their activities and to establish contacts. Also, the best community initiative / project implemented in 2017-2018 and community "Kera" (Kutkhe), which visually presented the activities of community organizations, were revealed and awarded at the forum.
The 2018 Forum featured a variety of sessions and leading speakers from international and local organizations, civil society and government. The public received information on important topics such as non-state funding mechanisms; New opportunities to achieve financial stability; The ongoing process of decentralization and the importance of involvement in the governance process; The role of women in governance; The environment in the country in terms of waste management, mechanisms for cooperation between relevant structures and communities and the challenges in this area.
The forum was co-sponsored by the Civil Society Initiative (EU-funded) and the Women for Empowerment for Change project (funded by the Swedish government and implemented by the United Nations Development Program).
