On October 17-18, 2019, at the Radisson Collection Hotel in Tsinandali, the Georgian Center for Strategic Research and Development (CSRDG) organized a Community Leaders Forum dedicated to the most powerful people - rural women. People who change the future of the village and consequently the country as a result of hard work.
The Community Leaders' Forum aims to popularize the activities of community organizations, establish contacts between community organizations, share successful experiences, provide information and discuss current issues to community groups.
At the Community Leaders' Forum, important discussions were held for community organizations on topics such as municipal funding mechanisms for local NGOs and community initiatives, women's economic empowerment, rural development challenges and prospects. In addition to the thematic sessions, some of the best community projects / initiatives of 2018-2019 were identified and awarded during the event. This competition serves to encourage projects of community organizations and increase their motivation.
Representatives of local, international and donor organizations, central government, local municipality, regional and central media attended the Community Leaders Forum. The involvement of a diverse audience ensured the promotion of local community initiatives and projects, as well as the establishment of contacts between stakeholders.
The event was organized within the framework of the project "Civil Society Development Initiative", implemented by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). The consortium also includes four Georgian organizations: the Civil Society Institute (CSI), the Georgian Center for Strategic Research and Development (CSRDG), the Consulting and Training Center (CTC), and the Center for Education Development and Employment (EDEC). The project is funded by the European Union and co-financed by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). The event was also financially supported by the UN Joint Program and the international organization "Bread for the World".
