Sport and Development

The aim of the project was to arrange a sports field and a square in the community of Samikao, which would become a gathering place for the population living in the community, especially the youth. For this purpose, with the help of the population, various works were carried out on the land plot on the balance of Abasha Municipality: tiles were laid, chairs were installed, outdoor lighting lamps and various types of simulators. After the renovation work, the villagers got involved in the square cleaning campaign. In order to demonstrate the final results, the project was presented to donor organizations, the local municipality and the population, and a photo exhibition depicting the work process was made.

The project was implemented within the framework of the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia ongoing project - "Empowering Women for Change", funded by the United Nations Joint Program (UNDP Georgia) for Gender Equality in Georgia.
